Vista Ridge is a small ski area located in Fort McMurray, Northern Alberta and offers winter recreation to the residents of the region. A big portion of our guests are families, with younger children, and school groups. Providing an enjoyable experience in our lessons is vital to these guests returning to our area and is our number one priority. .
Reports to: Ski School Director
Job Summary: Instructors provide ski lessons to school groups during the weekdays and camp groups or private lessons on weekends. As with most small areas, instructors are expected to help out in other departments during down time. Employees can expect 30 to 40 hours a week.
General Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
To provide lessons that complies with the standards set by CSIA.
To be responsible for the safety of customers at Vista Ridge during their lesson.
To read and comply with all Policies and Procedures as detailed in the staff handbook.
To be available to work in any other department as requested by the Employer. **
To be available to work at special events that may include night events.
To attend and have input at clinics. (Vista Ridge will fully support the instructor if he/she wishes to pursue further qualifications).
To be actively aware of customer service and the importance of the guest experience.
To have input into and help organize snow-school events.
To ensure that the learning experience is a safe, enjoyable one at Vista Ridge while maintaining excellence in customer service.
The instructor shall have a minimum of Level 1 CSIA or CSCF qualification or equal. He or she must be able to work without supervision.
Employment from November to April inclusive, or a part there of depending on availability.
Rate of remuneration $17-$18/hr. depending on qualifications and experience. Overtime will be paid after 44 hours per week.
