Job Title: Caregiver for Young Boy with ASD
Location: family residence
Hours: Flexible, based on work schedule (shift-work base)
About the Child:
This bright and loving boy thrives on a structured routine. He has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and will be attending school in the fall of 2025. A caregiver who is patient, attentive, and experienced (or willing to learn) in working with children on the spectrum would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Follow a consistent routine to support daily activities.
Assist with morning and after-school routines (when school starts).
Engage in age-appropriate activities that encourage learnig and social development.
Support communication needs, using strategies that work best for him.
Help with meals, hygiene, and bedtime routines as needed.
Monitor and manage sensory sensitivities, providing a calm and understanding approach.
Communicate regularly with parents about progress and any concerns.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience working with children, especially those with ASD, is preferred.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential.
Ability to maintain calm and consistency in various situations.
Basic knowledge of sensory regulation techniques is a plus.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must be reliable, trustworthy, and attentive to his needs.
Additional Information:
Care schedule will follow a rotating shift pattern due to parental work schedules.
Training or guidance on the child’s specific needs will be provided.
Looking for a long-term caregiver who can build a trusting and supportive relationship with him.
