Our Kitchen Supervisors advance their culinary journey by working with some of the world’s finest menu offerings and teams of dedicated and talented cooks who share a passion for the culinary arts.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time, flexible schedule with the ability to work day and late-night shifts.
Salary: $17.20 per hour, 40 hours per week, and meal subsidy.
Food discount on shifts worked.
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible.
Location: King Taps First Canadian Place, 100 King St W, Toronto, ON M5X 1E1.
Kitchen Supervisor Job duties include and not limited to:
– Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
– Cut, prepare and marinate food to recipe.
– Follow proper plate presentation that meets standards.
– Ensure inventory of food and supplies.
– Ensure cleanliness of the work environment and station.
– Maintain knowledge and understanding of King Taps products and menu offerings, and help determine related food and labour costs.
– Train kitchen partners in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures.
– Ensure compliance with provincial/territorial food safe procedures.
– Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of kitchen partners who prepare, portion and serve food.
– Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation.
– Prepare food order summaries for Chef according to requests from guests.
– Establish work schedules and procedures.
– Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
– Supervise and check assembly of take-out orders.
– Ensure that food and service meet quality control and King Taps standards.
– May participate in the selection of kitchen partners and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets.
Educational Requirements
– Working towards or completion of secondary school. Food Safe certificate is considered an asset.
Previous Experience
– Previous employment as a cook and several years of experience in the hospitality industry is required.
Skills
– Excellent communicator, self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability. Professional, principled and positive. A people developer with a knack for problem solving and quick decision making.
Language
– Written and spoken English is required.
